On the morning of July 9th, Younes Hospitality hotels on our Kearney campus were evacuated due to a flash flood. Talmadge Street turned into Talmadge River and seven of our Kearney properties remain closed due to severe water damage: Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, LaQuinta Inn & Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn, Candlewood Suites and the Younes Conference Center. The only Younes property that was not affected and remains open is the Holiday Inn Express in Kearney, on the south side of I-80.
Since that time there’s been a beehive of clean up and restoration activity; five restoration companies and 180 Younes Hospitality employees have pulled together in the sweltering heat, working to re-open our hotels. The results are impressive, and progress continues to be made every day. We will be back – better than ever and as soon as possible.
The Younes Conference Center will reopen in August as well as the Candlewood, Hampton and Fairfield hotels. The Comfort and the LaQuinta will follow shortly after.
The Holiday Inn will take a little longer, but the face lift will be worth the wait.
Phone systems at the hotels are still down but will be restored as each property is reopened. If you have questions about upcoming meetings or events, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you had a reservation at one of our closed hotels in Kearney rest assured that there will be no cancellation or no-show penalties for any of the hotels that are closed.
We greatly appreciate the outpouring of concerns and support from our community, our customers and friends through this difficult time.
